Student Placement Training
6th August 2008, Central London: Fashioning an Ethical Industry will run a training session for students who are interested in working conditions in garment manufacture and are about to go on, are currently on or have been on a work placement. The training is open to any students regardless of whether their placement has an explicit focus on 'ethical issues'. Through the training, students will gain a deeper understanding of issues faced by garment workers and efforts being made to improve conditions and enable them to share their experience with other students on work placements.
To book a place on this placement training day please go to the fei events section of the website.
Student Placement Guide
Fashioning an Ethical Industry have produced a handbook for students to work through before, during and after student placements to help them understand working conditions and what's being done to improve them.
The handbook is about working conditions in the fashion industry. It’s full of questions for students to explore before, during and after their placement, whether it will be for a small company, a high streeet brand retailer or an organisation working to improve working conditions in the fashion industry. These questions will give students the background knowledge to ask about things they see on their placement, and to interpret what they learn.
For a copy of the workbook, contact Liz at Fashioning an Ethical Industry liz_(at)_fashioninganethicalindustry.org (replace _(at)_ with @) or 0117 944 1700.
