Slow Textile Conference

The Slow Textiles Conference will take place on May 8th and 9th at the Stroud International Textiles Festival in Gloucestershire, UK. The two day event aims to be a comprehensive introduction to the subject and to stimulate discussion in and around the various and overarching themes central to Slow.

Day 1 sees Becky Earley (Keynote Speaker), Emma Neuberg, Clara Vuletich and Philippa Brock present papers on their textiles work and its role within the context of Slow Design and the slow movement at large.

These will be followed by ‘open discussions’ chaired by Helen Carnac, curator of the Taking Time: Craft and the Slow Revolution, the recently launched touring exhibition (UK).

Day 2 presents two arousing and inspiring workshops, one facilitated by Emma Neuberg and one by Clara Vuletich and Katherine May, that offer the chance to work and reflect alongside this new generation of exciting British textile designer.
