staff training

"I found it very informative, easy to understand, very positive and motivating", tutor participant, May 2008.

Through our training we encourage staff to critically examine different perspectives on workers' rights and initiatives to improve conditions. Two staff training sessions per year are open to staff from all universities and colleges and are free of charge. The next open staff training will take place at the University of Northumbria on the 19th of November. For more information go to the fei events section of the website.

FEI can also run bespoke sessions at particular colleges, free to colleges and universities able to demonstrate commitment to teaching about ethical fashion. Bespoke sessions can be subject - specific or aimed at developing a strategy for integrating ethical issues into the curriculum. For more information on both types of staff training please scroll down using the pink bar on your right.

Open Staff training (free) - open to all universities and colleges

Fashioning an Ethical Industry organises free half day training events for teaching and support staff connected to fashion-related courses in further or higher education. Previous topics have included multi-stakeholder initiatives, the impact of buying practices on working conditions and sharing good practice on teaching ethical issues. These unique sessions give staff the opportunity to hear from industry specialists and to network with staff from across the country.

To be kept informed about the dates and content of our open access staff training events keep an eye on the fei events section of the website or sign up to receive our bulletin by sending an email to info_at_fashioninganethicalindustry.org (replace _at_ with @) with 'Add me to the mailing list' in the subject box and indicate whether you are a tutor/student or other and which university/course or company/organisation you are involved with.
