Himalayan Highlands Summer Exhibitions Ltd, currently the largest importer of Fair Trade products into Scotland, are looking for a Knitwear Design intern to take charge of knitwear design, introducing new lines to their existing range.

The internship would take place in Kathmandu Nepal starting in early 2009 and lasting at least 6 months. The knitwear designer will work with Nepalese producers and have the opportunity to gain an amazing insight into a fantastic country and culture. A contribution to an airfare to Nepal, accommodation in Kathmandu and a food allowance will be provided. 

The successful applicate will have hand & machine knitting experience, excellent pattern making skills, the design experience to develop new trend-led knitwear pieces, colour forecasting and quality control expertise and excellent communication skills.
