2 INTERNSHIPS: Knitwear Designer and Fashion Designer/Project Manager in Nepal
Himalayan Highlands Summer Exhibitions Ltd, currently the largest importer of Fair Trade products into Scotland, are looking for a Knitwear Design intern and a Fashion Designer/project manager.
The Knitwear Designer will work with Nepalese producers to take charge of introducing new lines to their existing range.
The Fashion Designer/project manager will work alongside tailors to produce a new range of ‘ethnic fashion’ for varied European and North American market base. They will also supervise the knitwear design intern and assist with all areas of project administration and support including regular communication with the UK based project supervisor.
This is an opportunity to gain an insight into a fantastic country and culture. A contribution to an airfare to Nepal, accommodation in Kathmandu and a food allowance will be provided.
The knitwear intern will have the following skills:
- hand & machine knitting experience
- design skills to develop new products
- excellent communication skills
- trend led with desire to drive project forward
- colour forecasting experience
- quality control
The Fashion Designer/project manager will have the following skills:
- Fashion design experience
- Interest in ethnic fashion
- Knowledge of ethnic fashion
- design skills to develop new products
- excellent communication skills
- trend led with desire to drive project forward
- quality control
