Falling Through the Floor: Migrant women workers' quest for decent work in Dongguan, China

Falling through the floor is a field survey-based study published by the China Labour Bulletin that exposes the working and living conditions of migrant women workers in Gongguan, Guangdong Provinve. In the report, several dozen women tell about the arduous experiences of trying to earn a decent living in the boomtowns of the Chinese economic miracle today. The report shows that women migrant workers have consistently denied their fare share of the economic rewards and highlights the wide range of unethical and unlawful practices used by employers.
