SIMULATION ACTIVITY: Trading Trainers - exploring inequalities in international trade

This resource can be used as an introduction to how international trade impacts on the livelihoods of the poor and the inequalities that exist in international trade. This resource was developed by CAFOD/Christian Aid for use with pupils aged 13+ but fashion tutors at FE and HE level may also find it useful.

The resource can be downloaded for free from the CAFOD website.

This simulation activity is set in an imaginary Latin American shanty town, where small family businesses are making trainers to sell to the local market.  Their aim is to make ends meet. However, the country itself is in economic crisis and inflation is rocketing. How will they survive?
